BOMCAS Canada, a trusted leader in accounting and tax services in Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about accounting and looking to expand their expertise in financial transactions, record-keeping, and tax compliance.

As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting in financial transactions, managing invoices, processing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting software, general ledger management, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities:

✅ Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices are accurately recorded and payments are made on time.
✅ Assist in reconciling bank statements, general ledger accounts, and credit card transactions.
✅ Support the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
✅ Manage expense reports, receipts, and financial records to ensure accuracy.
✅ Process and verify payroll data, ensuring compliance with Alberta payroll regulations.
✅ Assist in preparing and filing GST/HST returns, payroll remittances, and corporate tax documents.
✅ Maintain accurate financial documentation and support the preparation of year-end reports.
✅ Provide support to accountants by compiling data and preparing reports for financial analysis.
✅ Communicate with clients and vendors to resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
✅ Stay updated on CRA tax regulations and changes in financial reporting requirements.


Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred).
1+ years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative role.
✔ Familiarity with QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or other accounting software.
✔ Basic understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and CRA tax regulations.
✔ Experience with payroll processing and tax filings (an asset).
✔ Strong organizational and time-management skills with a high level of accuracy.
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Sheets.
✔ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
✔ Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity and professionalism.
